All Saints Vestry, Thirkleby

The PCC of All Saints Church in Thirkleby, North Yorkshire applied to the YHCT for grant aid to help towards the installation of welfare   facilities in the south-west corner of the church in the Vestry. Through kind donations, concerts, grants and PCC funding the amount was raised and the amenities installed.

The PCC were keen to adapt the church space for varied, yet appropriate community use, an accessible W/C was installed in the corner of the South Aisle while retaining the intricate carvings and mouldings and being in keeping with the internal aesthetics of the church.

To the north side of the W/C a kitchenette was added to allow serving of hot and cold refreshments. Since the welfare facilities have been added, the church have carried out many events, these include Jazz Concert, Flower Festival, Fisherman’s Choir Concert, Candles by Candlelight Service and other activities such as organ recital and hand bells.

The PCC and congregation are thrilled to have the new facilities in place.
