The Trust is continually exploring new ways of raising funds and increasing awareness of Yorkshire’s historic churches so that more funding can be made available to churches in need.

There are a number of ways that you can get involved with the trust; ask friends and family to support you for Ride +Stride,  or pop along to some of the talks and lectures we hold where historians and experts share their wealth of knowledge about our historical buildings.

Why not join us for a day out to visit some of the region’s most interesting churches, leave a lasting legacy or become a Friend. Which ever way you’d like to get involved with the trust, get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

    Leaving a Legacy

    As a charity, we depend on the generosity of the general public, Friends of the trust and trustees. There are many ways that you can donate to the trust, including leaving a legacy.

    Leaving a legacy is a great way of ensuring that the churches and chapels you care for are preserved and maintained for years to come and future generations.

    Not only are you giving a fantastic gift to the Trust so that we can care for churches across Yorkshire, but it is also a way of saying thank you to the churches and chapels where you have worshiped and enjoyed visiting.

    Any legacies bequeathed will be spent directly on grants for places of worship, spread out over suitable time frame depending on the size of the legacy

    Whatever your wishes, get in touch with us today and see how your legacy can live on through the trust.

    The wording for the legacy in your will should be as follows:

    “I GIVE the sum of …………………… free from all taxes to the Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust (Registered Charity Number 700639) for its general purposes AND I DECLARE that the receipt of the Treasurer or other duly authorised officer of the Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors and trustees”.

    In Memory Donations

    In memory donations are a positive way to celebrate the life of a loved one or a relative while helping the Trust protect, preserve and maintain Yorkshire’s precious places of worship for future generations. If you would like to give in memory of a friend or relative you can make arrangements through a funeral director.
