Happy New Year to you all.
I hope you had a peaceful Christmas and are full of optimism for the year ahead? We have a fantastic programme of events in 2014, and we hope to see as many of you as possible over the coming year.
As you may know, after 6 years in post, our former Secretary, Janet Fotheringham stepped down in December. Whilst in post, Janet worked tirelessly dealing with general administration, as well as being instrumental in organising and providing content for the website, the newsletters, creating the wonderful notelets and organising a range of events for members. We thank Janet for her valuable contributions to the Trust over the years and wish her well for the future.
Earlier this month, Vanessa White took up the role as administrator, and is looking forward to continuing Janet’s work: assisting Friends, increasing membership, fundraising and organising events. Vanessa joins us from the Big Lottery Fund, and is keen to promote the great work the Trust does. Meet Vanessa below.
Has your church received a grant? Have you got some interesting photos of your project, do you have a story to tell? If you have anything to share, please get in touch at vanbarassociates@gmail.com The Trust is also now on twitter, so for those of you who tweet, follow us @YHCT88 to join the conversation and to get all our latest news.
Finally, if you haven’t yet signed up for the Sarah Brown lecture on 6th March, places are filling up fast. Sarah will be providing a fascinating insight into the new discoveries that have come to light during the restoration of the Great East Window at York Minster, and we do hope you will join us for what promises to be an interesting and enjoyable evening. Please click on the following link to see the booking form.
Thank you all for your continued support, without which we couldn’t carry out the work we do to save our precious buildings.
