We are planning a varied programme of events for 2016 and we’d like to invite members and non- members alike to join us.
Wednesday 27th January 2016
Wakefield Cathedral – ‘Celebrating our Stained Glass’. Join the Friends of Wakefield Cathedral at 6pm for Evensong with Victorian music inspired by the Choir Window, followed by a talk by YHCT Trustee Malcolm Warburton – “An introduction to the stained glass in Wakefield Cathedral”. All welcome, no booking necessary.
Saturday 20th February 2016
South Yorkshire area group tour. Saturday at St Matthew’s. This tour will explore St Matthew’s and hidden gems on Carver Street, Sheffield. 10am-3.30pm, to include coffee, lunch, and tea. Friends can come to the morning or afternoon sessions or the whole day. The High Church Anglican tradition, Father Ommanney, and the Arts and Crafts in St Matthew’s and further afield will all be explored. Booking form here.

Guided walk in Upper Wharfedale, run in partnership with the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. 9.30 – 2pm. A pretty 4.5 mile circular walk from Buckden to Hubberholme and back, including short visits to a working farm in Buckden, the Quaker burial ground at Scar House, and St Michael & All Angels church in Hubberholme which is known for its ‘mouseman’ furniture and as the resting place of author J B Priestly. Optional pub lunch afterwards.

North West area group church tour. Provisional itinerary is to visit St Chad’s in Far Headingley, Grove Methodist Church, Horsforth and finishing at St Margaret’s, Horsforth. The Churches Trust Forum Annual conference 19/5/15. The CTF, in partnership with the National Churches Trust, runs an annual conference for volunteers working around the country to support places of worship. In 2016, the conference will be held in York, and in partnership with the Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust.

Many thanks to all of you who took part in Ride +Stride in 2015. It was another successful year, with people exploring churches across Yorkshire, raising much needed funds for both the YHCT and their own churches.
